WWE Payback Predictions

Chicago in my opinion has always been the best wrestling city out there. Some might say the NYC area would be better, but not for me. On June 16, WWE is coming back to Chicago for WWE Payback & I’ll be there live to witness a night with a lot of great action. For me, there are many matches that I’m looking forward to at this pay per view. The crowd will make this show also very special as well. Now, this show wont be what Money in the Bank 2011 was, but I’m not expecting that. You would be crazy to think that. Let’s go through this card, match by match seeing what I think.
Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel v. The Miz v. Wade Barrett(c)
Not gonna lie, I’m little disappointed that Fandango’s concussion is causing him to miss out on the pay per view. I was looking forward to doing some Fandangoing in the crowd, I guess ill have to wait for that to happen. If he was still in the match, I would have had him walk away with the championship. Wade Barrett’s reign as the Intercontinental champion has been very uninteresting, so it’s the best thing for him to lose the championship. I’m a huge Miz fan, he’s my boy, but it’s not Miz’s time to be the champion again. Curtis Axel re-debut to the WWE Universe has been a good one. Clearly WWE is gonna push this guy forward, he’s got great skills out there & pretty badass remix to his father’s theme song. I’m predicting that Curtis Axel will walk out with the Intercontinental championship & bringing the gold the Paul Heyman’s faction of Heyman Guys.
United States Championship Match: Kane v. Dean Ambrose(c)
It’s not the match that I thought we would be seeing at the pay per view, but it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy that Ambrose is defending the championship. This is a rematch from Monday, it was good, but I’m expecting this one to be better. At the end of the day, Ambrose will walk out retaining the United States Championship at WWE Payback.
Divas Championship Match: AJ Lee v. Kaitlyn(c)
It’s about time that the divas, not just the Divas Championship will be featured on a WWE pay per view. Monday did a tremendous job at putting the final build to this match. I know people think this was just made this Monday, but no this has been a story for well over a year. I’m also liked how the secret admirer was just AJ’s way to torture Kaitlyn. I don’t think I want this to end here at Payback, so I’m gonna pick AJ to win by disqualification. This could lead to a rare no disqualification match between the two.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Alberto Del Rio v. Dolph Ziggler(c)
Thank God Dolph Ziggler is back! Ziggler has been very much missed on WWE programming & I don’t know if I could watch another Del Rio v. Langston match again. This will be a very good match, with some great bumping by Ziggler, but what is new for him. An back in forth match with Ziggler retaining the World Heavyweight Championship & hopefully onto a new challenger for Money in the Bank.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton v. The Shield (Rollins & Reigns)(c)
Talent overload in this match & what I think will be the match of the night for me. Daniel Bryan has been the WWE MVP recently, who has been having his best year so far since being in WWE. His match with Rollins on Raw was just an amazing contest. I’m surprised that this match was put together, I thought it would have been Orton v. Bryan, but this will be a lot of fun. Everyone will shine in this match, with Orton & Bryan trying to coexist, but The Shield will find away to retain the championship. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bryan turn his back on Orton as well in this match.
CM Punk v. Chris Jericho
This is the match that everyone is looking forward to seeing. It’s the Battle of the Best in this match. I’m overly happy to see CM Punk coming back & to have his comeback in Chicago is gonna be a special moment. I expect the crowd to be insane for Punk & loud throughout the match. One of the things that I love about this match, other than the great wrestling contest that we will see is that WWE is keeping Chicago for Punk first appearance since walking off of Raw. The two ways I see this match going is Punk walks away with the win & then go back into the WWE Championship picture. Another way I could see is Heyman gets involve accidently costing Punk the match & leading to the face turn for CM Punk. At the end of the day, it’s gonna be a great match & I’ll go with Punk to walk out with the win in this match.
3 Stages of Hell Match for the WWE Championship: Ryback v. John Cena(c)
(Stage 1: Lumberjack Match, Stage 2: Tables Match, Stage 3: Ambulance Match)
I think last month at Extreme Rules both these performers surprised a lot of people by having a great match & now we have the rematch. This match changed from an ambulance match to the 3 stages of hell match & I like that it was changed. Honestly the stages are fine, but they should have something other than an ambulance match. Even though it’s gonna be great to see the only pay per view main event JTG will ever be in. LOL!!! No doubt in my mind that Cena will retain the WWE Championship in this match. It’s still too soon for him to lose the championship, since the big win from WrestleMania.
In conclusion, I’m very much looking forward & excited for WWE Payback. It’s a night of returns, a night of great wrestling & it’s a night of championship match. All the WWE championships are on the line on this night, which is pretty rare other than at Night of Champions. There is are a few match that can be just amazing match on that night. It’s gonna be awesome to see the return of CM Punk, he’s been very much missed by the fans. I can’t say that there are any bad matches on this card, they are all good to amazing matches. The crowd is gonna match this show & I can’t wait to see how these matches pay out. The wait is killing me!!!

My WWE Payback PPV

My favorite wrestling event that I’ve ever been to was Money in the Bank 2011. To me, that was a perfect event where everything that happen was the right thing to happen. Other than the ladder matches & the great story that CM Punk gave the entire event, but it was the fact that it was in Chicago that made this event even more awesome. So with that being said, I’m excited for WWE Payback. I’ll be there live for the event, but for fun I’d like to take the time to write down a card that I would like to see. Of course this is what I would do if was Mr. McMahon.
Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz v. Wade Barrett(c)
The Miz hasn’t had his rematch yet, so I would have this match start the show. A good back & forth match here. Wade Barrett’s run with the championship hasn’t been memorable to say the least. I would put the championship back on The Miz & allowing him to have a new program with a new challenger. I then would repackage Barrett. Maybe get him ready for money in the bank.
winner: The Miz (new champion) - (10mins.)
Number 1 Contendership Tag Team Gauntlet Match: The Usos v. Tons of Funk v. The Prime Time Players v. Primo & Epico v. Team Rhodes Scholars
You can announce this match a week before the ppv, or it can be a special bonus match. It’s a nice way to get a lot of the talent on the ppv. For something different, I would have The Usos win this match. Have them start from number 1 to out last all the other tag teams. I’m a fan of The Usos & I wanna see them get there chance to put on some good matches. Plus I think they would work well with Rollins & Reigns of The Shield.
winners: The Usos (number 1 contenders) - (15mins.)
Chris Jericho v. Fandango
The score card is 1 to 1. This would be the final match in this feud. Putting on another very good match, maybe a great match. Fandango would walk out with the win & moving onto feud with The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship. For Chris Jericho, id like to see a feud with Barrett, if it’s not time for him to take a break to tour with Fozzy. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for both wrestlers.

This match would set up the world championship match at Money in the Bank. Continuing the feuds between the two. This match would all come down to Orton & Sheamus, eventually gonna have a feud between the two. With an RKO out of nowhere, Orton would walk out with the win.
winner: Randy Orton (number 1 contender) - (15mins.)
Triple Threat Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Jack Swagger v. Alberto Del Rio v. Dolph Ziggler(c)
I was really bummed that this match got cancelled from Extreme Rules, but I would have this match happen now at WWE Payback. Swagger would cost Del Rio his championship match on Smackdown. I would have each participants outside manager, valet, bodyguard or announcer get involved, but eventually sent to the back. I would have Del Rio “injury” Swagger, taking him off tv while his legal issue & possible suspension would finish up. After a hard hitting ladder match, Ziggler would be walking out still the world heavyweight champion.
winner: Dolph Ziggler (still champion) - (25mins.)
“Winner’s Take All” Six-Man Tag Team Match for the United States & WWE Tag Team Championship: Kofi Kingston & Team Hell No v. The Shield(c)
Extreme Rule was highlighted by The Shield dominating & taking the championship. This go round its “winner’s take all” for both team. This would be an exciting & great match with lots of action. The Shield will cont. to dominate the WWE & retain their championship.
winners: The Shield (still champions) - (18mins.)

I was really surprised how good there last man standing match at Extreme Rules went. An ambulance match is the only match that make since to do right now. Cena refused to leave the arena in an ambulance & Ryback wants to send Cena to the hospital, taking the WWE Championship as well. This match would have been an “I quit” match, but WWE had used that match last month. The ending of the match would have the surprise return of CM Punk. He would be in the ambulance & would attack both men. Punk would destroy both men & put them into the ambulance, ending the match in a no contest. Punk would walk away stealing the WWE Championship as well. This would set up a triple threat match at Money in the Bank.
winner: No Contest - (20mins.)
This was a lot of fun to do. To think of these matches & to plan them out, even setting up some matches for the next WWE pay per view, Money in the Bank. I can’t wait to be in Chicago for WWE Payback. It would be awesome if WWE did one of these match, just so I could say I called it first, lol. But in Chicago, I know WWE will bring it’s A game for the best wrestling crowd around.

Extreme Predictions for Extreme Rules 2013

The night of extreme is approaching this Sunday. WWE Extreme Rules 2013 is a pay per view that has had its fair share of problems. The Rock’s injury causing a rush to the Ryback heel turn to face Cena, & fast tracking the 3rd bout between Triple H & Brock Lesnar. Ziggler’s injury causing him to miss the pay per view, but at least WWE didn’t strip him of the World Heavyweight Championship. Those would be the problems of the show, but there is still a lot of good on this card. Now, lets go through the card line up & I’ll give my opinions & predictions for each bout.
Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship: Ryback v. John Cena(c)
I think this match should have been a Ryback Rule’s Match, lol. Hopefully using the last man standing rules will help shield the limitations of Ryback. I feel his heel turn is being fast & I think this match should have been saved, until after Ryback got back some wins. This will be an interesting match, with some great spots, but at the end of the day, Cena will retain the championship.
Steel Cage Match: Brock Lesnar v. Triple H
The 3rd match in the series & without question Brock Lesnar will win this match. I’m ready for Lesnar to do something else with other superstars other than Triple H. For some reason, I feel we will get the best match these two have had against each other. I’d also expect this to be the main event of the show.
“I Quit” Match: Jack Swagger v. Alberto Del Rio
(winner will be the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship)
After Ziggler’s injury, I sure am happy that this match isn’t a ladder match. I just don’t know how well just Swagger & Del Rio would be in a one on one ladder match. Hopefully next month will get the triple threat ladder match. Gonna be interesting seeing this match. These two do work well together & Colter & Ricardo will cause some great entertainment as well. I predict Del Rio to walk away the winner & number 1 contender.
Chris Jericho v. Fandango
It’s a rematch from WrestleMania. I’d expect a better match between the two & I’m hoping Summer Rae will be the dancer for Fandango as well. Don’t know if this match will have an added stipulation, but Jericho will put over Fandango again at Extreme Rules.
Strap Match: Mark Henry v. Sheamus
This match could be a brutal watch. The marks that Sheamus had from Henry’s attack weeks ago were pretty sick. I’ve been loving the monster Henry push & I expect Henry walk away with the win in this match.
Extreme Rules: Randy Orton v. Big Show
Without a doubt in my mind the easiest match to predict. Orton gonna walk out of his hometown with the win in extreme rules. I can’t remember the last time Orton & Show had a one on one match on a pay per view. So, I’m interested in seeing this match.
United States Championship Match: Dean Ambrose v. Kofi Kingston(c)
This is gonna be a very good match. I’m surprised that they went with a one on one match, instead of having a six-man for the titles. This will be a great wrestling match to separate the gimmick match. Dean is bringing The Shield the gold & Kofi goes back to not mattering.
Tag Team Tornado Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship: The Shield (Rollins & Reigns) v. Team Hell No(c)
It’s not just a tag team match, that would be boring. It’s an old school tag team tornado match, with everyone in the ring at the time. Will be a great match, no doubt about it. This match is full of talent, but in the end Rollins & Reigns are taking the championships from Team Hell No.
At the end of the day, I’m looking forward most is The Shield pulling a clean sweep for the championships. The strap match will have the brutal slaps with the straps & seeing the freak known as Brock Lesnar is always fun to watch. It’s not fair, but I’m looking forward to the next pay per view, WWE Payback. I’ll be there live & it’s in Chicago. So, clearly my interest is else where in the WWE Universe.

I feel his heel turn is being fast & I think this match should have been saved, until after Ryback got back some wins. This will be an interesting match, with some great spots, but at the end of the day, Cena will retain the championship.
Steel Cage Match: Brock Lesnar v. Triple H
The 3rd match in the series & without question Brock Lesnar will win this match. I’m ready for Lesnar to do something else with other superstars other than Triple H. For some reason, I feel we will get the best match these two have had against each other. I’d also expect this to be the main event of the show.
“I Quit” Match: Jack Swagger v. Alberto Del Rio
(winner will be the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship)
After Ziggler’s injury, I sure am happy that this match isn’t a ladder match. I just don’t know how well just Swagger & Del Rio would be in a one on one ladder match. Hopefully next month will get the triple threat ladder match. Gonna be interesting seeing this match. These two do work well together & Colter & Ricardo will cause some great entertainment as well. I predict Del Rio to walk away the winner & number 1 contender.
Chris Jericho v. Fandango
It’s a rematch from WrestleMania. I’d expect a better match between the two & I’m hoping Summer Rae will be the dancer for Fandango as well. Don’t know if this match will have an added stipulation, but Jericho will put over Fandango again at Extreme Rules.
Strap Match: Mark Henry v. Sheamus
This match could be a brutal watch. The marks that Sheamus had from Henry’s attack weeks ago were pretty sick. I’ve been loving the monster Henry push & I expect Henry walk away with the win in this match.
Extreme Rules: Randy Orton v. Big Show
Without a doubt in my mind the easiest match to predict. Orton gonna walk out of his hometown with the win in extreme rules. I can’t remember the last time Orton & Show had a one on one match on a pay per view. So, I’m interested in seeing this match.
United States Championship Match: Dean Ambrose v. Kofi Kingston(c)
This is gonna be a very good match. I’m surprised that they went with a one on one match, instead of having a six-man for the titles. This will be a great wrestling match to separate the gimmick match. Dean is bringing The Shield the gold & Kofi goes back to not mattering.
Tag Team Tornado Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship: The Shield (Rollins & Reigns) v. Team Hell No(c)
It’s not just a tag team match, that would be boring. It’s an old school tag team tornado match, with everyone in the ring at the time. Will be a great match, no doubt about it. This match is full of talent, but in the end Rollins & Reigns are taking the championships from Team Hell No.
At the end of the day, I’m looking forward most is The Shield pulling a clean sweep for the championships. The strap match will have the brutal slaps with the straps & seeing the freak known as Brock Lesnar is always fun to watch. It’s not fair, but I’m looking forward to the next pay per view, WWE Payback. I’ll be there live & it’s in Chicago. So, clearly my interest is else where in the WWE Universe.

Nearly Live Raw Coverage
Now that I have nothing to do during Raw, I might as well cover it live. Too bad I didn't think of this until an hour into Raw this week, but I'll go back over it all anyways.
Fandango vs Chris Jericho - Dance Off
Why did this start Raw? I guess I shouldn't complain too much because we were blessed to see two beautiful women in little clothing. I, like others, was disappointed with Summer Rae's acting, but it was improved when it was actually just their plan all along. Also, why do they keep changing Fandango's partner between Summer and the other dancer who is a real dancer? Hmm... Nice use of flooring, though.
Ryback vs Zack Ryder
We think the same here. Except, I think Zack should have brought back the half pants before fully transitioning into full pants. Oh well, I guess I'm not a fashion designer for a reason.
Tons of Funk vs Prime Time Players
Why more dancing? Why? At least PTP got the win! When was the last time they won on Raw or Smackdown? I don't even care it was dirty. It was innovative and awesome.
Recap. Why so much? We don't have short term memory like Dolph.
Speaking of Dolph, I'm glad he's getting to keep his championship. I was going to be heart-broken if he wouldn't. I'm a little disappointed there won't be a ladder match at Extreme Rules, but maybe there will be one at Payback? I'd hope so, because it's my favorite type and would love to see it live.
Kofi Kingston vs Damien Sandow
When Sandow said he wasn't going to sing, I thought he was following it up with "...because it's a little racist." Sorry for my mind going there, but it did. I'm disappointed with how short this one was. I enjoy both men in the ring. I guess they have to cut back the wrestling in order to find time for recaps, though.
Kofi vs Dean Ambrose at Extreme Rules? Yes, please! Now, I'm thinking they're going to have Rollins and Reigns go after the Tag Titles. Have all three with straps? That'd show some power.

This seems like the tenth time these guys have wrestled this month. Am I the only one? Of course, Orton wins again. I'm just hoping they're saving a clean Cesaro victory for a pay-per-view. That's the only way to make this better. They're trying to build Cesaro as dominant, but they keep having him job to Orton.
By the way, I see Orton back in the championship picture with 12 Rounds: Reloaded coming out soon.
The Sheamus and Mark Henry angle was decent, I guess. I wasn't really paying attention because I feel like Henry gets tired when he talks. I'm pretty excited for the strap match. These two will brutalize each other and it will be glorious!

My first thought: 3MB, baby! Then Miz came out and ruined the six-man tag match. I guess they can't have two on in one night. I still think the three men could do better in the midcard than as a trio. I guess there's a reason I don't work in creative, though.
I guess the recaps take up so much time on TV that they have to use the app to showcase the backstage interviews. Remember when those were part of the show and recaps weren't? I was a child and still do.
Back to the match, Dolph should have received the Figure Four, not Miz. I'm even a Miz fan and think that. Damn, that sucks.
I can't complain about things like the breast cancer awareness. At least it's for a good cause unlike the recaps.
Time for the six-man elimination tag match. If all three Shield members aren't standing, I'll be a little upset. Unless it was a sacrificial loss. I'll especially be upset if they're the first to lose a member. That would be like a loss in its own way. Just please don't have The Shield lose.
Nothing like two different recaps for a feud involving two part-timers. Oh, and they're ending Raw with these two in the ring together. At least they're not out promoting other projects like another part-timer we all know.

When I got in the App, it was Reigns in the ring against Cena. No eliminations yet. Would they ever have a pinfall during commercial? It'd provide a sense of realism to WWE, but do they even care about that?

I miss Marcus Cor Von

Yeah, you read that headline right. I miss Marcus Cor Von, and I want him back.
Sure, he only had a brief appearance in WWE, but I loved it. Before you get all confused, let me explain myself a little bit.
First, most wrestling fans have that one wrestler they love that most people could not care any less about. For instance, the Wrestling Memes guy is obsessed with Heath Slater. It's just a part of wrestling that will never die out.
Secondly, he had a strange charisma that made him entertaining. He was flamboyant without being too weird. His promos were strange, but not to the level of Ultimate Warrior and better than Ryback.
Third, he looked like he belonged. Other than the color of his skin, he looked like somebody Vince McMahon would create if it were possible and make him the face of the company. His athleticism that carried over from the NFL fit perfectly for his style.
Then there's his finisher: the POUNCE! I simply loved it. Sure, it's nothing special if you just look at it, but Cor Von played in the Super Bowl. That gave his move purpose. It also helped that his opponents would sell it well enough to look devastating. Could you imagine Dolph Ziggler or Zack Ryder taking that? I'd mark-out for sure.
Finally, there's one part about him that most people would instantly disagree with. His theme song is one of my favorites of all time. It's not my favorite style of music, but I love listening to "Smooth." It's not even the typical theme song, but he made it work, and I miss hearing it.
Sadly, he left the WWE due to personal reasons, and professional wrestling hasn't seen The Alpha Male since.
I guess I should be happy that I at least witnessed his only WrestleMania moment.

Fantasy Re-Booking of WrestleMania 15

For this blog, I’m gonna do something different & fun. I think all wrestling fans think how they would book a show is better what the bookers could do. It’s understandable. Sometimes when I see a wrestling card, I think of what changes I would do & think this would be much better. This time I’m not gonna improve a current card, but I’m gonna take a shot at changing a card from the all too great attitude era. WrestleMania 15 to me is the worst of the attitude era WrestleMania’s, so I’m gonna take a shot & show how I would change the 15th showcase of the immortals.
Before we get to my card. Let’s take a quick examination of the official WrestleMania 15 card.
1. Triple Threat Match for the WWF Hardcore Championship: Hardcore Holly v. Al Snow v. Billy Gunn(c) - A good little hardcore match with some fun spots. Good opener for the show.
2. WWF Tag Team Championship Match: D’Lo Brown & Test v. Jeff Jarrett & Owen Hart(c) - Very short match. Okay match at best with no story going into this match.

8. WWF European Championship Match: X-pac v. Shane McMahon(c) - A good match here. Wasn’t Shane’s best match, but was one of his first matches. This match also had a great moment with Triple H & Chyna turning on DX to join the corporation.
9. Hell in a Cell Match: Big Bossman v. The Undertaker - One of the worst WrestleMania matches ever & also the worst hell in a cell match.
10. WWF Championship Match: Steve Austin v. The Rock(c) - These two headline 3 WrestleMania. This was the 1st one & the worst of the 3. But it was a great match that the crowd was great in the match as well.
Now for my WrestleMania 15 card.
1. WWF Intercontinental Championship Match: Val Venis v. Ken Shamrock(c) - In WWF history, Venis won the IC title at St Valentines Day Massacre. In my booking that would not have happen. The story of this match going in would be Venis using Shamrock’s sister Ryan to cause Shamrock to go crazy & go after Venis. Ryan Shamrock would be the downfall of her brother’s title reign, costing him the title at WrestleMania. After Venis wins, he would dump her, leaving her heartbroken.
2. WWF Hardcore Championship Match: Al Snow v. Hardcore Holly(c) - It’s a rematch from St Valentines Day Massacre. This would be a hard hitting, fun hardcore match. Fighting all over the building, using everything imaginable. In the end, Snow would finally get the victory & walk way with the hardcore championship.
3. WWF Tag Team Championship Match: New Age Outlaws v. Jeff Jarrett & Owen Hart(c) - Jarrett & Hart would walk away retaining the championship. This match would start the destruction of the New Age Outlaws with Billy Gunn becoming frustrated after losing this match. Eventually leading to him turning on Road Dogg.
4. Battle Royal for the WWF Women’s Championship - The women’s wrestling wasn’t very good at all around 1999 in the WWF. This would be a short match with all the divas WWF had at the time. Nicole Bass would be a surprise entrant in this match. As Tori & Sable are fighting each other, Bass would eliminate all the other divas. She then would take out Tori, then revealing how she is Sable bodyguard. Allowing Sable to retain the championship.
5.Hell in a Cell Match: Kane v. The Undertaker - I would stick with the storyline of Undertaker is trying to take over the WWF. Mr. McMahon being desperate to stop him, puts Undertaker v. Kane in a hell in a cell match. At the end of the day, the Ministry of Darkness would walk out of hell with the victory, one step closer to taking over the WWF.
6. Mix Tag Team Match: X-Pac & Triple H v. Shane McMahon & Chyna - Corporation v. DX here. X-Pac would be domination this match, until Triple H would turn on him. Joining the Corporation & starting his heel run with a feud with X-Pac.

That’s my card for WrestleMania 15. You have all the key big time players involved in the show. That deserve to be on WrestleMania. There some starts to some storylines to go on from this Mania. My WrestleMania has also the ending to some of the biggest stories in the WWF at the time. Hope you all have fun reading this card as much as I had fun creating this card.
For this blog, I’m gonna do something different & fun. I think all wrestling fans think how they would book a show is better what the bookers could do. It’s understandable. Sometimes when I see a wrestling card, I think of what changes I would do & think this would be much better. This time I’m not gonna improve a current card, but I’m gonna take a shot at changing a card from the all too great attitude era. WrestleMania 15 to me is the worst of the attitude era WrestleMania’s, so I’m gonna take a shot & show how I would change the 15th showcase of the immortals.
Before we get to my card. Let’s take a quick examination of the official WrestleMania 15 card.
1. Triple Threat Match for the WWF Hardcore Championship: Hardcore Holly v. Al Snow v. Billy Gunn(c) - A good little hardcore match with some fun spots. Good opener for the show.
2. WWF Tag Team Championship Match: D’Lo Brown & Test v. Jeff Jarrett & Owen Hart(c) - Very short match. Okay match at best with no story going into this match.

Exploring the Show of Shows: WrestleMania 29

This Sunday is the biggest pay per view of the year, WrestleMania 29. I’m happy to say that I’ll be attending this event, making it the 4th WrestleMania that I’ve attended. From what I read about this WrestleMania, it seems people have mix opinions of this event. Even going out saying it will be the worst Mania of all time. WrestleMania 7 says HELLO!!! I say lets watch the show & see how the performs work this Sunday, before we judge how terrible or great this show is. Right now, I would like to give my thoughts/opinions on this card.
WWE Championship Match: John Cena v. The Rock(c)
It would appear that this match is the cause for all the hate on this card. Yes, I understand we saw it last year & depending on how you thought that match went, I can see why people wouldn’t want to see this again. For me, I’m excited for the rematch. I was there at WrestleMania 28 for the “Once in a Lifetime” match & the crowd ate this match up & the pop at the end was one of the biggest that I’ve ever heard. The difference I feel this match has compared to last years is, this years feels more personal. We haven’t had battle raps, rock concerts or just back n forth insults. The tone of this match is personal. Maybe the result of this match is clear, but I’m not too sure anymore.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jack Swagger v. Alberto Del Rio(c)
Clearly this match is a shocker for this years WrestleMania. I don’t this anyone could have predicted that both these performers would be in this spot in the card. This match is gonna be very good wrestling match. The build of this have been also very very good. It started out great with Swagger bringing in Zeb Colter & starting the “WE THE PEOPLE” stuff. After feeling this feud start to drop a bit, but Swagger “breaking” Ricardo’s ankle turn up the heat for this match. One guarantee in this match, it will last longer that 18 seconds.
CM Punk v. The Undertaker
Will it be 21 - 0 or 20 - 1? This is the match, most fans, are looking forward to the most. I think we will get the best out of these two performers considering the injuries of both men. Sadly the untimely death of Paul Bearer really jump started this feud. Making this match extremely personal. Another match that I’m looking forward to & will have the crowd on the edge of their seats. It’s just what there two wrestlers do for the fans. The true shocker of the evening would be if Punk would end the streak & if this is Undertaker last ride, maybe he is the 1 in 20 - 1.
No Holds Barred Match: Brock Lesnar v. Triple H
(if Triple H loses, he must retire)
It’s a rematch from SummerSlam, but everything about that match back in August is gonna be turned up a notch or two. It’s a No Holds Barred Match, so it’s gonna be a fight. Triple H’s career is on the line as well in this match. I would love to see some involvement from the McMahon family, maybe Stephanie coming down to kick Paul Heyman’s ass. The result is a coin toss for me. Brock is gonna be performing more this year, so it make sense that he would end Triple H’s wrestling career. Also who else does Triple H have to have a program with? I can’t think of someone off the top of my head. I expect brutality & with Lesnar in this it certainly will be.
Ryback v. Mark Henry
I for one can’t wait for this match. Yes, it’s not pretty, but come on people we know that going in. It’s gonna be just a clash of titans. It’s gonna be hard hitting & a short match. If this match goes pass 10 mins, I’d say that would be too much time for this match. Also very curious is: Can Ryback put Henry in the Shellshock?
Chris Jericho v. Fandango
Another surprising match on the card for WrestleMania. It is finally the debut of Fandango & to be honest the character is growing on me. Clearly the WWE is behind the gimmick as well. With giving him his 1st match on Mania & adding more & more to his entrance. I think this is gonna be the start to a good run for Fandango. Jericho will carry this match to show that Fandango belongs in the ring with Jericho. It will be entertaining to say the least.
Six Man Tag Team Match: The Shield v. Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show
The biggest thing that I can’t wait to see in this match is The Shield coming through the crowd in Metlife Stadium, that will be freaking awesome. Ever since Orton, Sheamus & Show got together they have shown how well they will work together. It appears no weakness in the team & they look unstoppable. With everything looking so positive for the face team, I don’t see The Shield losing this match. If anyone should hand The Shield their first lost, it should be Ryback at a future PPV.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston v. Team Hell No(c)
At least Daniel Bryan match this year wont be 18 seconds this year. I didn’t see Ziggler & Langston challenging for the tag titles, but I think it’s a good spot for everyone. AJ is gonna be a great element in this match & I wouldn’t be surprised for a run in by Kaitlyn. At first I was thinking this would be the start to the end of Team Hell No, but maybe this isn’t the event for the moment to happen. I would love to see Ziggler becoming one half the tag champions & to cash the briefcase for the world championship.
Eight-Person Mix Tag Team Match: Tons of Funk & The Funkadactyls v. Team Rhodes Scholars & The Bella Twins
I can honestly say I didn’t see Tensai being apart of WrestleMania 29, especially his just terrible return last year. This is gonna be a fun match, with a lot of characters in it. I don’t expect this to go very long, but will be enjoyable. Ill be rooting for Team Rhodes Scholars & the girls who have saved the divas division, the Bella Twins.
Overall, I’m excited & looking forward to WrestleMania. Yeah, I know I’ll be at the event, but if I was staying home, I still would be looking forward to the show. Only really disappointing thing for me is that, the Intercontinental Championship Match: The Miz v. Wade Barrett(c) is going on the pre-show. But that’s just one small little issue I have. I also hope on the pre-show Cesaro gets a match, then I would say you have everyone that deserves a spot on Mania on the card. All I can say is, just have fun on Sunday April 7. WrestleMania is a celebration, it’s not to get all stressed about & upset. It’s the biggest WWE pay per view of the year, so just get a group of friends & order it, sit back with your food & drinks & just have a great time.

Calling Their Shot
"Brogue, brogue, brogue."
"Oh, hey Sheamus. Thanks for yelling 'brogue' with the fans while beating your chest. I'm going to go ahead and duck your Brogue Kick. You know, I don't feel losing our match improves my standing as a dominant heel."
To me, I don't understand why wrestlers call out the fact they are about to hit their opponent with their finisher. I know if I were a wrestler, I wouldn't want my opponent to know I'm about to hit my finishing maneuver. However, it continues to increase in usage.
Shawn Michaels popularized the act. He is one of my all-time favorite performers, but this simple act bothers me. He would "tune up the band" by stomping his foot on the ring before hitting his patented "Sweet Chin Music." Since Michaels inspired the wrestlers of today, it occurs more often on television. I couldn't find a video of him tuning it up, but here is a montage of kicks.
The aforementioned "brogue" chant began when Sheamus turned face and the WWE creative wanted the fans to cheer with the "Celtic Warrior" turned "Great White."
Zack Ryder "Woo, woo, woo's" before hitting the "Broski Boot." Calling his shot leaves little to wonder why Ryder's opponents tend to end the night with their arm raised.
There are other instances where wrestlers audibly signal their attacks, but these are the ones that stick out to me the most.
Yes, wrestling is scripted, and it is supposed to be entertainment. At the same time, it is supposed to resemble reality. Why not taunt them silently or hit them out of nowhere?
No. Randy Orton does not hit the RKO out of "nowhere." He usually smacks the mat before striking. The announcers are fed a line, and they regurgitate it.
Announcers: that's another topic in its entirety.

Tips on Attending Live Events
I have made plenty of trips to professional wrestling shows over
the years. I have been to four pay-per-views, two live Raw shows, five house shows, and
multiple independent events. Each time has been a different experience for me.
Plus, I am attending Heroes and Legends Wrestling inaugural event on
March 23 so this will help prepare me for the day.
First of all, do
not take your children if they are too young. This focuses primarily on the
pay-per-views. I attended WrestleMania
23 when I was 14 years old, and I loved going. However, whenever I
look back at that day, I realize I made so many mistakes. I chose poor moments
to use the restroom; I focused more on taking pictures of the
"TitanTron" than watching the in-ring action. The worse thing about
the night was the younger kids who sat behind us. They left midway through the
show. I'm assuming to prevent the children from staying up too late on a school
night. Don't take young people to big wrestling shows. It will be a waste of
money.
Attending shows with
friends follows not taking children. Whether or not they watch wrestling on a
regular basis, taking a few friends to tag along makes for a great time. From
my experiences, those who do not watch regularly have a good time which has
made them want to watch more often. Wrestling shows allow anyone to be loud and
obnoxious without judgment coming from anyone.

Along with
attending with your friends, make sure you buy tickets that allow your group to
sit with each other. When I attended Raw this
past June, my friends and I decided to sit in the front few rows. We also
wanted to pay for them separately. The only problem that occurred was not
finding seats next to each other. We ended up with three tickets that were in
three different rows. Luckily (somewhat), one of my friends could not attend so
we had to sell his ticket. This allowed my other friend and me to sit two rows
from each other rather than on the opposite side of the arena. The show
entertained us, but we both would have enjoyed it more sitting side by side.

The Beauty of Independent Wrestling
Professional wrestlers who work for the WWE are able to enjoy fame and fortune. Those who work for TNA receive less than the WWE but more than plenty of others. Those others are the independent wrestlers.
Most independent wrestlers begin their careers by receiving training from others who have a knowledge in the business. Training usually costs the aspiring wrestlers hundreds or thousands of dollars. This puts the wrestlers in some debt. Debt that many may not ever pay back. That's because small-time independent wrestlers usually do not get paid, but if they do it is not much.
So why would they keep wrestling? The do it because they either love to do it or want to improve their skills in order to earn a big payday someday. Either way, they provide fans with entertaining shows. Well, they try to at least.
I didn't watch much independent wrestling early in my life, but lately I have spent just as much time watching it as I do WWE. That's in large thanks to independent wrestler Mark Vandy.
Why lie to you? He is my older brother. However, he is young and talented in the ring. He's only been doing it for a little over a year now, but has made a name for himself all over the state of Indiana as well as parts of Ohio and Massachusetts. He was even mentioned by Kevin Nash in his infamous article with Grantland when he called Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero "vanilla midgets." However, Mark is not the only reason that I enjoy watching his shows.

Where is the Divas Division?

Since the start of 2013 there has been a something missing on WWE programming, mainly on Monday Night Raw. We have seen very little from the divas in 2013. I know this doesn’t matter to many fans, but I just wanted to bring up this issue. There have been many Raws with out any mention of the divas, let alone a divas match. At the Royal Rumble we didn’t have a match & at the Elimination Chamber event at Divas Championship match was built on the Monday, before the event, on a video for the WWE app. At this time, I wouldn’t be surprised if at WrestleMania, there isn’t a Divas match. This division has been on the decline since last year. During 2012, the divas division lost many of it’s stars & talents. We lost: The Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix & most recently Eve. Let’s take a look at the current divas division & just see what the WWE has to work with.
Kaitlyn: The current divas championship, but she hasn’t done really anything since winning the championship. I think she is solid, but she still has some improving to do. I do love that she has started doing the spear as a finisher.
AJ: Currently only playing the role as Dolph Ziggler’s girlfriend. During 2012, AJ really become the top diva in WWE. She been in a relationship with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, CM Punk & Kane. I would love to she her wrestling more in WWE & with Kaitlyn as the Divas Champion, there is an easy feud right there. I expect AJ to finally be done with being in these relationship & just be an unstable crazy force in the divas division.
Aksana: All she really does is crawl on her hands & knees during her match.
Alicia Fox: A former Divas Champions, but that was back in 2010. She hasn’t done anything in really since her run as champion.
The Funkadactyls: Recently we have started seeing Cameron & Naomi in matches more. To me, the Funkadactyls are just a poor man’s attempt to be the Bella Twins. They have a long ways to go to be even close to the twins.
Layla: Another former Divas Champion & is pretty decent in the ring. I would prefer to have as a heel, rather than a face. Like back when she was with Michelle McCool doing their “Mean Girls” gimmick. It was that gimmick that made her a star, but now she just lost with the rest of the divas.
Natalya: No one can’t say she isn’t the best diva in the division. She is also being so underused at this time. Currently she is paired with The Great Khali & Hornswoggle. In 2013, I hope to she Natalya back to doing what she does best, wrestling.
Rosa Mendes: Rarely in any matches, only being used at Primo & Epico’s manager. That’s all.
Tamina Snuka: I think with Beth Phoenix leaving WWE, the office is trying to make Tamina the monster of the division. But for me, It’s not working. Tamina isn’t nearly as skilled as a performer as Beth. Maybe she will eventually become the monster of the division, but I hope she changes her attire.

What if Someone Else got Rich?
I was watching Money in the Bank 2011 the other day, and it got me thinking about those who have competed in the MITB matches and lost. This match has helped propel the careers for many of the winners. So, what if somebody else who competed in these matches won instead? Since the first six MITB matches were held at a WrestleMania, I figured now is a fitting time to take a look at each MITB match:
1) WrestleMania 21 - Chris Benoit
Chris Benoit's prior championship success would not have made him a surprise winner. That said, the impact of his win would have changed 26.5 months later after he murdered his wife and son before committing suicide. The WWE doesn't even mention his existence outside of record books.
For this sake, be thankful it was Edge who won and became known as the "Ultimate Opportunist."
Actual winner: Edge
2) WrestleMania 22 - Matt Hardy
Matt is the older of the Hardy brothers, but he has always been treated as the younger one by wrestling promotions. Unlike Matt, Jeff Hardy has been the one to win world championships in both WWE and TNA.
I feel like he had risked enough during the Attitude Era to receive at least one world championship run.
Actual winner: Rob Van Dam
3) WrestleMania 23 - Mr. Kennedy
Alright, you caught me! Mr. Kennedy technically won this match, but he never had the chance to cash in the contract. It seemed like every time Kennedy was about to receive a push, something happened that caused for it to come to a halt. First, the WWE overreacted to an injury. Secondly, he was suspended for a wellness policy violation.
Now he's in TNA as a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
Technical winner: Edge
4) WrestleMania XXIV - Carlito
Carlito had enough charisma and in-ring ability to make a credible champion. Also, I'm sure it could have helped make Carlito more pleased with his standing in WWE.
Actual winner: CM Punk

The Road Bump to WrestleMania: Elimination Chamber Prediction

This Sunday is the Elimination Chamber pay per view, or as I like to call it: The Road Bump to WrestleMania. Out of all the WWE gimmick pay per views, I think the Elimination Chamber is one that they do the right way. Using the chamber matches as the wrestler’s last chance to get in the championship picture at WrestleMania works for me. The reason why I feel this event works so well is, there is a reason for the elimination chamber match/es to happen. There always for one of the world championship or a number 1 contender ship. Unlike say the TLC pay per view where you have a chair or a tables match just because you need to have one. Let alone what a stupid match type ... a CHAIRS MATCH. Wow, those are brutal! Enough of this weak intro, lets get predicting the Road Bump to WrestleMania!
WWE Championship Match: CM Punk(Challenger) v. The Rock(Champion)
(If Rock is counted out or disqualified, Punk wins the championship)
It’s a rematch from the Royal Rumble & without question it will be the main event of the pay per view. I’m expecting a better match than what we got from the Rumble, which I thought was a very good match. I do see them playing with the fans in the match by having some how the referee gets tricked & Punk will win the match. To understand what I’m talking about go she Fully Loaded 2000, The Rock vs Chris Beniot. Punk has the edge going into this match with the new stipulation added to this match on Raw, but The Rock will retain the WWE Championship & will go on to WrestleMania.
Winner: The Rock
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Big Show(Challenger) v. Alberto Del Rio(Champion)
There is no question in my mind the Del Rio will retain the championship this Sunday. This will be a solid match, but I would’ve had Del Rio defend against a different challenge. For me & I think a lot of the fans out there just wanna see if Ziggler is cashing in the money in the bank briefcase after the match.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio (Ziggler cashing in after the match)
Elimination Chamber Match: Randy Orton v. Chris Jericho v. Mark Henry v. Jack Swagger v. Daniel Bryan v. Kane
(winner faces the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania)
This is the match I’m most looking forward too. There is so much talent in the match & so many possibilities in the match. Can’t wait to see how Team Hell No will fall apart in this match. I would start this match with Bryan & Jericho. Mark Henry will be a dominate force in the chamber, eliminating most of the opponents. Swagger will have a great showing in the match, like all his showing he has had since his return. When it comes to winner in the match, I would say it comes down to Swagger & Jericho. Both I think are your best options for the challenger at WrestleMania. Since I feel Ziggler will cash it after the World Championship match, it only makes since for Jericho to win this one.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Six Man Tag Team Match: The Shield v. John Cena, Sheamus & Ryback
I think may people think this is a one sided match. Thinking that there is no way the WWE All Star team will lose to the Shield. But The Shield needs to win this match to have any steam going into a match at WrestleMania. Only thing I can say for sure is that, Cena will not take the fall in the match.
Winners: The Shield
Divas Championship Match: Tamina Snuka v. Kaitlyn(c)
Not much of a build to this match right here. It’s a rematch to the god awful match from Raw Roulette, but lucky this isn’t a divas lumberjack match. Think it’s too soon for Kaitlyn to lose the championship.
Winner: Kaitlyn
United States Championship Match: The Miz v. Antonio Cesaro(c)
The current United States Champion has been so damn impressive ever since winning this championship. Just his attack on The Miz on Raw, swinging him from side to side against the guard rail was flat out awesome. This has been a very good rivalry, these two really work well together. I’m a huge Miz fan, but I just have a feeling it’s not time for Cesaro to lose that championship.
Winner: Antonio Cesaro
Well, that’s all the match for this prediction blog. I’m looking very much for the PPV & I feel we are in for a very good show Sunday night. Is It Cena's Master Plan?
I had an idea pop into my head while I was reading some articles on Bleacher Report. The article had something to do with possible twists and turns that could occur during Elimination Chamber on Sunday. One of these twists was a heel turn made by John Cena by aligning himself with The Shield. This would obviously resemble Hulk Hogan's turn on his "Hulkamaniacs" when he aligned himself with the nWo in 1996. Even though I don't think it will happen since Cena makes too much money for Vince, I can't help but ask myself "what if?"
Let's look at how 2012 went for Cena:
- He began the year with what could have been the worst feud of the year with Kane.
- Kane's "monstrous" return was all but killed when Cena didn't "embrace the hate."
- He helped bury Zack Ryder in the process.
- He lost to The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII.
- He was F-5'ed by a returning Brock Lesnar the next night on Raw.
- People who lived across the hall from me thought there was a teenage girl in my room who had Justin Bieber sign "Baby" to her.
- My brother topped my reaction by snapping his phone in half.
- Despite the winning the match, Cena was completely destroyed by Lesnar at Extreme Rules.
- I gained a lot of respect for Cena after taking that beating like a champ.
- His wife filed for a divorce which was finalized within the week.
- I know it's not wrestling related, but it still adds to his woeful year.
- He won the Money in the Bank ladder match for a shot at the WWE Championship.
- Hey look, something good happened!
- He became the first man to not win the championship after cashing in the contract.
- It was 2012, of course it wasn't going to turn out well for him.
- This happening on Raw 1000 made it even worse.
- The worst part was when CM Punk stood tall over Cena and The Rock at the end.

Luchadores Lose Identity in WWE
It has been reported that every one's favorite luchador from Tijuana, Canada has officially signed with the WWE. With the WWE's poor history utilizing luchadores, the question on every fan's mind is "Will the WWE ruin El Generico?" Many fans hope not because they feel he "gets it" when it comes to evoking a reaction from the crowd. Let's take a look into the past at a few luchadores from WWE's history to see how the generic luchador's career may fare.
Eddie Guerrero:
Why not start the list off with the greatest luchador in the history of the WWE? Being the only person on this list to have a lengthy reign with the biggest prize in the WWE, it is no lie that Eddie was great. Along with his WWE Championship, he held nine other championships and was a first-ballot entrant into the WWE Hall of Fame.
I think we can all agree on the fact that Eddie lied, cheated, and stole his way into our hearts before passing away too soon. At least he provided us with many great moments and created a path for future luchadores to follow.
Rey Mysterio:
Rey Mysterio is one of the most successful luchadores in WWE history. He has held gold twelve times over ten years. This includes to reigns as World Heavyweight Champion, a short-lived run with the WWE Championship while CM Punk left after Money in the Bank 2011. Along with his championships, he has won the Royal Rumble match in 2006 while setting the record for longest time spent in the ring for any Rumble match.
Some people say that his success after 2005 has only been because of the passing of Eddie. Even though his death may have had an influence on some of Rey's moments, I still believe that Rey's in-ring ability was the main reason.
The guy can work with anyone on any night. Well, he used to be able to. Now, he seems to be on the verge of retirement. Who knows how much longer he will wrestle?

Sin Cara:
Speaking of Rey Mysterio doing one more job, Sin Cara is the guy that he needs to do it for. The WWE is well-known for passing the torch between two similar wrestlers. How much more similar can two masked high-fliers get? They both appeal to kids, do flippy things that make people go "Whoa," and fit the underdog role perfectly.
Wait, I feel like I'm missing something else. Oh yeah, they both seem to be injury prone. The only difference is that Sin Cara is still young. Hopefully he can find a way to stay healthy so he can make a big impact down the road. If he does not, he might be the biggest bust in WWE history.

The Road to WrestleMania has Begun
The "Road to WrestleMania" always seems to be one of the most exciting times of the year. Intense storylines, big returns, and Undertakers streak all make these weeks the best of the year, but you all already knew that. Even though we know some things are almost guaranteed to happen (Undertaker winning), it's still the exciting because of the "what if" factor.
I know that we still have plenty of weeks and Elimination Chamber left, but these are my thoughts on what the WrestleMania XXIX card will look following Royal Rumble:
-Rock (c) vs Cena - This match is all but finalized already, and we have only seen one Raw since they both were victorious at Royal Rumble. With The Rock being the big name star that he is, I do not see him dropping the belt after only a month. Although I would love to see anyone else with the strap. The Rock went over in his "Once in a Lifetime" homecoming match last year, so I see "Once In a Lifetime: Part II" being the official passing of the torch and championship belt. Winner: Cena

-HHH vs Lesnar- Lesnar returned on Raw and injured Mr. McMahon. I see the recently retired son-in-law wanting to seek vengeance. Since Vinnie Mac never said the words "You're fired" to Heyman, I see his contract being on the line. Lesnar saves his manager's job. Winner: Lesnar
-Taker vs Punk - There's rumors Taker is sitting this year out. I for one would be disappointed. Punk has little to prove anymore. To be the first one to defeat Undertaker at WrestleMania would be something no one would forget. It doesn't happen, but no one will forget the match. Winner: Taker

Welcome!
Welcome to Vander Time: A Pro Wrestling Blog! My name is
Michael Vanderkolk, and I am a college student who enjoys everything professional
wrestling has to offer. After school, I’m hoping to get involved with the
business side of the industry because pro wrestling is something I love.
This love has been growing for most of my life. I am sure I
watched episodes of Raw ever since I was born, just months after its debut, but
cannot recall watching until I was around five years old. I have attended five
house shows, two live Raw events, WrestleMania 23, SummerSlam (2008) Money in
the Bank (2011), and Survivor Series (2012)
along with multiple local independent shows. Each experience will have its own
post later on. However, if you were at that Survivor
Series, and you saw a guy in a pink Dolph Ziggler shirt jumping like a
little kid when John Cena won the Royal Rumble and screaming “Viva la
revolution” after the Shield’s debut, it was probably me. I was only slightly
excited to witness the debut of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (I did not know
who Roman Reigns was at the time but am excited for him as well).

Everyone has a voice on here. If you have
ever been on a wrestling forum but felt like your posts were overlooked (I did), then you will be welcomed here. I feel like forums have too much traffic that causes posts to be overlooked. This blog will provide a voice to the voiceless of
the IWC.
